July 19, 2009 Potluck Picnic and Garlic Braiding – The apple trees will be fully leafed out, providing a shady cover for this potluck picnic. Remember to bring your own re-usable plates, cups, utensils. Artisan Organics will provide the Iced Tea and Lemonade. You bring your favorite potluck item. After lunch we will learn to make garlic braids. Garlic braiding is an appropriate activity for those with good fine finger skills. If you can braid hair, you can braid garlic!
August 9, 2009 Potluck Picnic and Blackberry Picking – In addition to your plates, cups, and utensils, bring all the containers you can find. It’s blackberry picking time! Come prepared to pick enough for pies, jams, etc. Or, pick and freeze for the long winter months ahead. This activity is appropriate for everyone!
September 20, 2009 Harvest Potatoes – Remember those potatoes you planted in May? Now is the time to harvest them. The potatoes will have been dug with the tractor and left lying on top of their bed. We just need to collect them. It’s like an Easter Egg hunt only your seeking potatoes rather than eggs. After collecting and sorting the potatoes, we will celebrate the harvest with our last feast of the season.
September 20, 2009 Fall Harvest Party – Celebrate the change of seasons with your fellow shareholders. Soon the days will get shorter and the rains will come. Bring your own plates, cups, and utensils and a dish to share. We will provide non-alcoholic drinks. You are welcome to bring beer or wine. If you have musical instruments, please do bring them.
Nov. 2, 2009 All Hallows Eve Garlic Planting – Join us for the final get together of 2009 by helping with the final planting of the year. Garlic. This activity is appropriate for kindergarteners and older.
