I wanted to let you and everyone know how happy I am with the three hens I bought from you a couple weeks ago. It was really fun going out to the farm and getting the chickens. They have already laid a few dozen eggs, and they have been pretty easy to care for. Thank you for all the helpful advice. I am totally new to this and you made really easy to get started with chickens. You can check out my the chickens and their coop on my blog: http://theryanroser.blogspot.com/2009/10/i-feel-like-chicken-tonight.html

I'm sorry. I don't check the comments on my blog very often. Yes, there was a screw up in renewing my domain registration so the web site was down for a few days. Unfortunately, I'm no longer taking Registrations for 2009. But, I am for 2010. If you are interested, please e-mail me at farmer@artisanorganics.net and I will get all of the information to you.

Don't throw out your beet tops! This is my favorite recipe to use them up. Try to get eggs from a farmers market until the chickens at Artisan Organics start laying. Beet-top quiche from Vegetarian Times http://www.vegetariantimes.com/recipes/10591?section=

We had garlic scapes and salmon on the grill last night. Yum! This was a first for me and my husband and we both loved 'em.

Also, the mizuna and green onions are used up every week in my saimin... you know, the pre-packaged dry noodles and powdered broth. Not the healthiest, but definately a comfort food for me. It's what I crave when I don't feel so good, and I can load it up with greens and other vegies.
